I upgraded to 17.10 on the launch date, and was interested in trying out some different panel layouts. However, when I run MATE-Tweak, the only options it gives me are Traditional (which I’m already using) and GNOME2. I’ve tried purging and re-installing the Tweak package, but with no change in behaviour.
There are several .layout files in /usr/share/mate-panel/layout and all seem to have the same permissions. Although I do wonder if they’re left over from 17.04 since there are a few I don’t recognize such as fedora.layout and mageia.layout.
When I asked on the IRC, I was told someone else had the same problem and they directed me here. Any direction would be appreciated.
