Help! I bought a Pimoroni keyboard from EBay. I typed in The quick brown fox…..out come total gobbldygook.
Is there an incantation to fix this?

I presume you are using this keyboard attached to a raspberry pi?
What operating system are you running, Ubuntu-Mate I presume? 
If Ubuntu-Mate, open the "Control Center", under the group "Hardware" locate and click on "Keyboard", then open the tab "Layouts". Can you make sense of things on your own from there?

Fixed now. I had NumLock switched on.
