Problem with panel

Hello,

I wanted to make a new panel, this one as a top panel. I added my favorite menu to it, Mate Main Menu. I tried to edit it, for example which applications it shows etc. And it changed also my Mate Main Menu in bottom panel.

How can I make it to be a copy menu, not the same menu? I want the top panel menu to have just certain apps and settings, and bottom panel menu everything, and I want both of them to be Mate Main Menu.

Please, tell me the easy way… :stuck_out_tongue: and if easy way doesnt exist, tell me the difficult way. I just want a copy of that menu, not the link to same menu. I want to edit them separately, even the button icon… so that even in dconf there are TWO Mate Main Menu settings.

My guess is that Mate Menu keeps its settings in one place. You can add as many Mate Menus you like, but they will be just instances of the same menu (config) thus showing identical set of applications. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

Having different setups would require per instance settings, something in the vein of profiles in mate-terminal.
