Problem with scanner on ubuntu 16.04

I had 15.04 setup with everything working… including my Canon Canoscan Lide 100 scanner. Upgraded to 16.04 and it not working.

(Sorry for my english, but i am from greece )

I have always had trouble with scanners. Even if I get them to work I don’t get full functionality. A couple of years ago I found the software Vuescan, it is proprietary mind you but it’s $30 for a lifetime license, all future versions will be licensed and it has detected scanners I have never been able to use, without me configuring anything. It really is a great piece of software. I’ve had no issues using it on Fedora, Solus, Ubuntu, Arch…etc. It also works on Windows and Mac. Here is the link if your interested.
