I’m trying to install and run a Windows game via WINE. The trouble is this, the game requires the Windows version of Adobe AIR; which has become a bit of a hamstring in an otherwise normal process.
First, I tried installing the Linux version and using that to run it with no luck. Then, I tried installing the game through PlayOnLinux which was also supposed to install AIR to the virtual drive as part of the installation process. However, the installation froze halfway through the process of installing.
If there’s a known fix for these sorts of issues, or for installing AIR programs in Linux directly, that’d be great to know.
DETAILS:
OS: Ubuntu MATE version 18.04 LTS i386
Hardware: Dell Inspiron 1525
Adobe AIR version required: 31.0
Game install file type: exe
- The game runs perfectly fine in Windows 8.1/10 (and presumably virtual machines, though I didn’t test those as my hardware doesn’t run them very well)
