Raspberry/Arduino & etc AND Ubuntu (MATE) VS MS Windows IoT

Ubuntu (MATE) and Linux in general, are already “in” the Rapberry and Arduino realms, with more than less success. However, I am seeing more and more and more appearances of the MS Windows 10 IoT Core and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise on multiple devices in the market (for ex. https://www.geutebrueck.com/en_US/g-scope-6000-sas-47471.html), and with the “weight” of the MS Corp and the aggressive marketing, it is not surprising. What do you think Ubuntu (MATE) an the rest of the Linux world should do about that?

I don’t think Linux should try to directly compete with the likes of Windows. It should just keep on ploughing its own furrow in terms of where it is useful. Oft-times, of course, this will put it in direct competition with Windows. But, this should just be allowed to happen by default, as opposed to by design.
