Router USB thumb drive sharing in UM 20.04

Has anybody been able to connect to their usb drive in there router in UM 20.04 ?
I was able to get it working in 18.04 after help from your members but none of that appears to work now.
I was able to bring up the usb icon through Windows Network > Homegroup > TGateway> usbdisk. but can't open it.
I have installed Samba, cifs, and Nemo
When i test some of these other linux systems they connect to the routers usbdrive but if i install the operating system and try it, it does not allow me to open the Windows Network thingy ??
I have tried it with the firewall on and off.
I have been able to set up Shared folders and access them but that is not what I'm looking to do and i don't need a Server setup either, Just a plain easy small storage system that i can access easily.
Beats plugging a jump stick in and out every time.
This is a home network only.
Also can the Windows network be removed from the router as i don't use windows OS now and can't find a homegroup password that will work with it.
Any advice will be welcome, PS not very good with terminal commands.
