Samba hangs on install?

SAMBA hangs during install, but later, Caja displays "Windows" icon in Network pane. It errors out too.

Below, is a screen cap of where Samba hangs, and the error given. The next image (2) is what Caga see and the error when clicking it.

OK - after creating the screen caps, discover I'm not permitted to add a IMAGE to this post/topic/thread. Darn those dangerous pics!

So, I'll have to describe it then.

There is a green dot bedside smbd.services - Samba SMB Daemon

Too much to type in without errors so the bottom fail is:
Beside

CGroup: /system.slice/smbd. service

are 4 lines each with a number like below:

|7110 /usr/bin/smbd --foreground --no-process-group
|7112 /usr/bin/smbd --foreground --no-process-group
|7113 /usr/bin/smbd --foreground --no-process-group
|7114 /usr/bin/smbd --foreground --no-process-group

an hangs here. Closing the window results in

There is still a process running in this terminal. Closing terminal will kill it. Close/Cancel

The error when clicking "Windows Network" icon states

Unable to mount location
Failed to retrieve share list from server: No such file or directory"

Trying to use Ubuntu-Mate 18.04.3 LTS

Now what?
