I noticed that only recently, the last couple weeks, maybe a little longer that when I shut down with applications like Firefox, Terminator etc … that when I start my system up they all open where they were.
I am wondering what setting does this and has Mate always done this and I just happened along the setting without knowing?
Thanks
Hi andamo,
I was just wondering the other day if I could have open applications reopen as they were in MATE on reboot. Glad that this option still functions, although I can't help with how to turn it off, if that's what you're after, aside from closing all applications before shutting down.
But that was before I noticed this:

Unchecked by default in Debian 9 with MATE 1.18. No wonder!
Edit: I hope this has at least something to do with your question.

Awesome thanks. I actually like it when it starts where I left off. Using “sudo systemd-analyze time”. My system is at 44.717s which opened firefox, thunderbird and terminator.
