Hallo alltogether!
I have checked Manjaro-Mate and Mint-Mate,
the main menus in thies ditros have a search field,
I find, that it is very nice and comfortable.
What do you think about?

Go to System/Preferences/Mate Tweak, choose the interface tab and change the interface to one that has the main menu search function you desire. I believe at least one of them has that feature in the menu.
