SSD Install - Additional configuration needed?

I got a new laptop with an SSD drive and installed UM. Everything works great, but I was wondering if there is any additional settings / configs which are needed to optimize for SSD installations?

Appreciate any help on this,

The only thing that would need to be checked is if fstrim has been set to run on schedule. Generally this is done automatically, once a week. Run the following (replacing sda with the appropriate suffix if needed) to check.

sudo hdparm -I /dev/sda | grep "TRIM supported"

Usually the job is enabled as a cron.weekly job in /etc.

(Historically, I’ve never needed do anything extra when using Samsung SSD’s with UM, runs perfectly, and has done, for a couple of years now…)

You may want to take a look at I/O schedulers

I use the Noop scheduler for my SSD and CFQ for my regular HDD.
