Strange bugs with dual booting. Data drive switched to read only, until I reboot into Windows and boot back

So I am dual booting between Mate 19.04 and Windows 10. The error I am encountering is that whenever I boot into Windows 10 and then back into Ubuntu Mate, all my other internal drives(I have 3: one with Ubuntu, one with Windows and one drive for backup and general data) will become read only. It will do this until I boot back into Windows 10 and then back into Ubuntu again. I also have the issue that when I get the read only drive error, Ubuntu will not let me reboot. When I select reboot it just signs me out. I have to go to shut down, shut the computer down, boot back into Windows, then finally reboot back into Ubuntu.

Do you have fast boot enabled on win10? (somewhere hidden in the advanced power options).

I believe it is. Whatever the default is set to for dual boot is what it's set to. Also whatever the default is for boot.

Please have a look at https://www.linuxuprising.com/2019/01/fix-windows-10-or-8-partition-mounted.html
Hopefully it would help to resolve your problem.

Thanks guys. I turned off fast boot and no more issues, so far at least.
