Strange panel configuration running live

I have just booted Ubuntu Mate 20.04 on an Acer notebook, i get both panels on the top.
an this seems strange to me. Unfortunatly this pc isn't mine so i don't know if i'll be able to retest in the future.

Running Mate Tweak, changing to Cupertino and reverting to familiar seems to fix the problem.

Was this consistent on every live session boot or just a one-off?

Tried again works fine. I don't know what happened.

burned again an usb key, that is also verified after booting so should be perfectly ok. And happened again. On a totally different pc.
