Suggestion: Add Mate Tweak to panel by default

Mate Tweak is so versatile and powerful, I believe it could have a quick launcher or applet added to main panel by default, is it possible?

Right click the panel and choose “add to panel”

Choose “Custom Application Launcher”

type “mate-tweak” (without the quotes) in the command field

Type what you like in the name and comment fields.

Finally, if you don’t like the default icon, click on the icon and navigate to an icon of your choice.

When you’re done, press “OK”

That’s it.

@stevecook172001, thanks, I already know how to do this, just suggest to be default in the stock ISO/install.

Hi Sergio. I do agree about it’s usefulness on the panel. Which is why I always put it there when I install the OS. However, I would argue that there are several such utilities that could be potential contenders as default panel apps. The problem, though, is one of limited panel real-estate.

So, for me, the optimal solution is to have on the panel, by default, only essential items such as main menu, network, restart/switchoff, calendar etc. Everything else, whilst being very easy to add to the panel, should always be optional. Pretty much, the setup as it stands, in other words. I do accept the above is just my opinion though and that there are many arguments, including your own, to the contrary.
