Suggestion-> Caja file manager Shortcut to the top panel?

Hi . i’m testing 18.10 on a solid installation. No issues at the moment.
I suggest adding the Caja file manager to the top panel ?

Add it yourself. Right click on that panel> Add to panel> Select Application Launcher…> click on Add, System Tools, Caja.

Yeah man , i do that all the time.
I suggest adding that as a default setting

Surely, adding a caja launcher to the panel is such a trivial thing to do that it does not warrant having it there as default?

Or, perhaps another way to put it would be that if such a launcher was required as default, then why not have twenty other launchers as default on the panel as well?

I just think it’s HARD to find the “files manager” ( in this case caja). I mean we have to search for files maanager in the search bar.
The files manager shortcut is a default in almost all SO’s like windows or mac and even default Ubuntu from canonical

You already have that shortcut in Mate desktop in the form of the “places” menu on the top panel. Or, at least, you do with the traditional layout. If you click it open, the first thing you see is the “home” link, which is where the file manager shortcut you mention that is present in other distros is typically linked to.
