Fresh 22.04 install in a virtual machine.

Easiest way to get it running:

  1. Click here to download: https://www.torproject.org/dist/torbrowser/12.0.6/tor-browser-linux64-12.0.6_ALL.tar.xz
  2. Go to your download directory, and extract all files
  3. Go inside the tor-browser directory that appeared following that, and double-click the start-tor-browser.desktop file.
  4. Click "Launch Anyway" to the launcher not trusted prompt.

Gotta add the GPG verification stuff but I'm not sober enough rn.

I've noticed other things in the "Software Boutique" that are broken, like Etcher, not just 22.04 but 20.04 as well. If the resources are not there to maintain the "well curated" promise, IMHO it should be removed.

A link to a page or Wiki with instructions on how to get these apps if they are not in the standard repos could be substituted. Today's solution would be a start.
