Two more days and no posting

Well we have two more days and then no posting so it is over. This site can be used for referencing for a couple of days after that and by the end of the month will be archived. I will visit the next two days and then it is adiós. It’s been great, so sad to see it end.

Thanks to everyone that participated, led us to greater knowledge and helped me with issues.

It has been a really great 'forum', well managed in my view, and even the 'end' has been well handled.

( I wonder why you started a new thread? and not just add to Until next time! 👋 Because you can for now I guess. )

I've been using Ubuntu MATE more or less from the very beginning and didn't join here until Nov of '24 simply because I didn't know about it until the old Ubuntu Forums closed up and I actually only found out about this place after joining the Ubuntu Discourse.

Gonna miss this place for sure.

It's just no more new topics on the 12th April. You'll still be able to reply/post to existing topics until the read-only date of 26th April.

The idea being: To gracefully wind down. For Support & Help Requests in particular, time for those to be created over in Ubuntu Discourse. By all means, if someone wants to create a 'mega finale' party topic in Cuppa n' Brew, we don't have to archive it. :wink: :partying_face:

I've come to really enjoy the community here, and am sad to see it go. I created an account on https://discourse.ubuntu.com/ and am still feeling my way around. There is definitely a different vibe. I see there was an effort to create a MATE community there, but it seems there is already sufficient MATE information to warrant a separate container. Oh, well.
