Ubuntu 22.04 + Mate DT or Ubuntu Mate 22.04

Which should I do?

Install Ubuntu 22.04 and then later install the Mate desktop over it OR
Take the easy way: Install Ubuntu Mate 22.04

Either way I wind up with Ubuntu Mate 22.04.

Does it make any difference?

Myself, I would install Ubuntu Mate. There are differences in default software like your file browser, terminal and text editor that can give you problems between Gnome and Mate.

Its Vetter to Install Ubuntu Mate. Gnome installs a ton of CSD Apps instead of SSD Applications.
