i am using ubuntu mate 16.04 LTS and i tried ti upgrade at ubuntu mate 17.10 it was sucsessful but after restarting my computer login screen dosnt seem to be working its frozen .
I don’t have an answer, but curious why you went to 17.1 and not 18.04
thats the only option in upgrade menu
