Ubuntu mate 16.04 does not fit to my 8gb sd card

Hello,

Ubuntu mate last system release img 16.04 does not fit to my 8 gb toshiba sd card. Is there any problem in my sd card? Or has this done intentionally? Can anybody help??

It will most definitely not be intentional.
I noticed that it required more than 8GB when I installed it in VirtualBox. It needs about 8.6GB, whereas earlier versions would fit onto an 8GB hard drive.
The size of the distribution is bound to grow, as software becomes more complex.
I don’t know whether you are in the UK, but if you are you can buy a 16GB card for a small sum of money. Curry’s sell a 16GB Class 10 SD card for £3.99.

I have a fairly vanilla install taking up 6G. Also remember the system will reserve something like 5% for its own storage. Throw in your swap partition and you have little to nothing.

I have built an image which will work on a standard 8GB card.

My guess is that the creators created the compressed file from an expanded image by mistake.
Take a look at my solution here : http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/46450/reduce-ubuntu-mate-16-04-img-file-size/
