Hey @Wimpy or anyone else for that matter. What is the hex code for the green in the ubuntu-MATE logo?

A simple program “gcolor2” will give you the hex by clicking on it.
sudo apt-get install gcolor2
I have used this and it is:
#87A556
gcolor2 is supplied with 15.10
Gimp also makes it easy to click a color and get the hex value…
@stevecook172001 Has the right answer
I use gcolor2 for quick color identification and gpick when I need to build a palette. Also in MATE 1.10 a colour selector comes as standard, practically identical to gcolor2.
Geany editor has one built in. Place the cursor where you want the hex code, or somewhere within an existing one, and click the Interactive Color Picker, to open the Color Chooser. Click the dropper, then click on the color to be retrieved anywhere on the desktop, job done.
Color chooser also has adjustments RGB and HSV plus 20 save-able patches and a before/after comparison.
"Mate Color Selector"
Just now seen it
Just to add to the mix: zenity
is pre-installed which can pick pixel colours, similar to gcolor2
.
zenity --color-selection
Edit: Only for Ubuntu 15.04 and below. It’s even uglyfied–I mean, simplified that hex picking isn’t possible with 15.10 and up.
