Ubuntu mate on MacBook

HI

I have a 2009 standard white MacBook which I have ubuntu mate installed on as a single boot is. Everything works fine apart from the two things listed below.

1/ On OSX I can right click via pressing the CTRL button when clicking with the trackpad button. On mate I have to double tap the trackpad with two fingers to access the right click menu. Is there any way I can enable access in the right click menu via clicking CTRL like on OSX :?

2/ Mouse pointer does not move smoothly in mate when using the trackpad. I take it I can use synaptics to fix this problem :?

Do you have any experience of whether these problems are solved with Ubuntu Mate 16.04? I have an old 6th generation MacBook (6,1) too and would like to run Ubuntu Mate on it. Does it work out of the box? @Furycd001
