@wimpy I just got an old Lenovo Thinkpad X61 (Type 7675-H4C). What modified BIOS did you use to unlock SATA II? Do you know if the official Lenovo BIOS 2.22 update supports SATA II (See: http://support.lenovo.com/ro/en/downloads/migr-67982)? Is there any step-by-step guide for someone attempting to flash the BIOS for the first time? The reason I want to do this is to use a faster SSD and to get rid of the old HDD (where an old Windows 7 system is running on). Is it possible to upgrade to 8GB RAM after I installed Ubuntu Mate 16.04 or is it better to do that before the installation?
