UM 18.04: Can't run the Software Boutique from the Control Center

Upgraded from UM 17.10 to 18.04 and added the snaps mentioned in the release post. If I click on the Software Boutique in the Control Center, nothing happens. I looked into the .desktop file and tried to run the command in a terminal:

env BAMF_DESKTOP_FILE_HINT=/var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications/ubuntu-mate-welcome_software-boutique.desktop /snap/bin/ubuntu-mate-welcome.software-boutique

I get the following error:

cannot change profile for the next exec call: No such file or directory

I can run Welcome from the CC and from it launch the store by clicking on “Softwares” without issues.

Ignore, I misread the post, sorry. I get command not found too…

I already did this, I installed the three snaps. The Boutique appears properly in the Control Center but for some reason, I can’t launch it.

try running ubuntu-mate-welcome --boutique from the command line.

It should use the snap version

It works. But as I said, it does too by launching Welcome from the CC and going in the Softwares section. But I’d rather try to find the origin of the underlying issue and have a functional launcher for the Boutique in the CC.

I noticed on a fresh install (in a VM) that I have a snap.ubuntu-mate-welcome.software-boutique in /var/lib/snaps/apparmor/profiles which I don’t have on my upgraded UM. I’ve tried to manually create the file just in case but no change.

Also tried to uninstall/reinstall the snap but it’s the same.

EDIT: opened a bug report just in case.

I tried to launch the Software Boutique today from the Control Center and for some reason it now launches. The issue fixed itself. Didn’t install or remove anything related to snaps, so maybe it’s because of a recent update?
