Um 18.04 ssd & grub 2 (fixed)

good day
i have a computer i'm trying to install a single ssd . 240gb wd .
i used the GUID Partition Table, first time i used it on a boot able driver.
/dev/sda1 = um 18.04
/dev/sda2 = Linux Swap 8gb
/dev/sda3 = sparky Linux
/dev/sda4 = pinguy Linux
/dev/sda5 = unused

i installed um 18.04 everything went fine
i installed sparky Linux everything seemed fine
i installed pinguy and when it came to installing the grub it gave me an error i didn't think much about it because i was going to boot into um 18.04 and reinstall grub to /dev/sda

i rebooted it brought up pinguy 's grub menu, i selected um 18.04 , booted into um 18.04 opened a terminal sudo grub-install /dev/sda:

[sudo] password for xxxxxx:
Installing for i386-pc platform.
grub-install: warning: this GPT partition label contains no BIOS Boot Partition; embedding won't be possible.
grub-install: warning: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged..
grub-install: error: will not proceed with blocklists.

i'm not sure what to do with this , some reading i'v done is UEFI or EFI system is this because of the GPT partition i would rather stay away from UEFI or EFI . or should i go back to msdos and extend the partition ?

updating sparky reinstalled grub2 to the mbr from sparky i booted back into um 18.04 updated and it fixed it with out complaint so i guess fixed
