Unsnapping a window doesn't revert to prior window size (true?)

Greetings,

I've read that snapping windows in Marco doesn't have all the features of Windows 10 snap. Hey, that's cool, I get it. But I'm finding it kind of annoying that unsnapping the windows doesn't revert them back to their previous size. Is that the way it is or am I doing something wrong?

Sorry for all such questions but I'm a noob.

I tried it on my own computer:

  1. Dragging a window to the right edge of my screen snaps it to the right half of the screen. Dragging it away from the edge returns it to its former size.
  2. Using the Meta key (a.k.a. Super key or Windows key) and the right arrow key snaps the window to the right half of the screen. Using Meta + down arrow returns it to its former size AND its former position on the screen.

I'm running Ubuntu MATE 20.04 on a Dell XPS-13 with a 4K screen.

It's so strange. I didn't work yesterday, works fine today. Hmm.

Thanks goinglinux
