I want to upgrade from Ubuntu 16.04 to 17.04. Will I face any issue here ?

Without knowing more about what you’re upgrading, this isn’t easy to definitively answer. As always, back up your data to an external device/location. FWIW, I’ve upgraded several machines and laptops with both Intel and AMD chipsets, ranging from 2 to 5 years old, all have been flawlessly upgraded.

I think you cannot jump from 16.04 to 17.04 without upgrading first to 16.10 unless you want to reinstall Ubuntu Mate.
Every upgrade has some risk to fail and destroy your installation. So better prepare a 17.04 boot-stick and have a backup. In case of 2 upgrade procedures, reinstall a fresh 17.04 could be faster.
