i started using mate because it was the original desktop. i love the new one but the weather is gone. Can i put it back?

You can add it again doing right click on the panel > add to panel > weather report

Rather have the original one but thank you very much.
There is also second one as part of the Clock:
panel > add to panel > clock
(right click -> preferences to set)
I'm using that one with Indicator Applet instead Indicator Applet Complete to avoid having 2 clocks.
I think this setup is the same as in previous Mate versions.
