Weird Notification Panel

I've messed with my Ubuntu Mate 18.04 by installing and removing unity and gnome desktop. After removing everything and some applications my indicator panel looks a little bit weird (see picture)

Before it got messed up, I only had the ibus-indicator shown (in picture "DE") in the red area, but now wifi, caffeine and bluetooth indicator are shown in the "Notification Area" (red) instead in the green area, where it used to be.

I wonder why it happened? Maybe someone knows what I accidentally removed or knows how to revert this

I fixed the problem with the indicator with

sudo apt install ubuntu-mate-desktop

but when I try to log into my laptop after the lid was closed, I have to log in 2 or 3 times until I'm on my desktop.... (maybe I will create another post about this bug)

still would be nice to know which caused the behaviour explained above
