Where has my printer settings gone?

I'm currently running Ubuntu MATE 16.04 with MATE version 1.14.1 and I'm not too sure what happened but the printer icon in the Control Centre has disappeared?

I'm sure it was there just last week, now I can't find it anywhere? The printer still exists and I can print to it but I cannot find the settings icon in the Control Centre anywhere, the only reason I even noticed it was missing was because I just changed toner on my printer and wanted to make sure the drivers had registered the new toner.

Hi @Bulletdust,

have you removed anything from the System at all?, have you run any fixes in “Welcome”?.

Welcome > Software > Fixes > Fix broken etc!.

I just ran all fixes in the Software Boutique, made no difference! Any ideas anyone? I use that setting from time to time.

I haven’t removed anything from the system at all in the last few days/weeks.

Is system-config-printer-common and system-config-printer-gnome installed? Maybe try to --purge and reinstall it.

I reinstalled system-config-printer-gnome and all is good, thanks my friend.

I’ve still got no idea how it managed to uninstall itself though?
