Wi fi not working

Another thought, guessing you are using Ethernet to connect. Do you have Indicator Applet Complete on a panel. If so click on network icon and see if a wireless connection is also shown (would show with more bars and most likely would not have a lock icon like mine) and also if enable Wi-Fi is checked. Blurred out one is my WiFi connected to Internet.
Another question are you dual booting and able to boot XP or did you wipe it?

I wiped XP
I am using Ethernet to connect.
The Applet looks different to the one you show. It has the Ethernet connection but no wi fi. If I go to edit connections it shows the WiFi connection I set up.

this is your wifi, I cannot find a suitable driver for it.

I suggest buy a $5 usb wifi adapter, plug it in to a usb port and hopefully you can have wifi.
