Wifi drivers on 16.04

Hello. I installed ubuntu mate to my old laptop. It works great and fast, but there is a problem with wifi. It just cant see wifi and i dont have cable for wired connection. So i can’t install drivers for it. My driver is broadcom4318 (b4318) i searched for it, found some videos and used my phone to download and put it onto my laptop but no luck. Nothing worked. I dont know what to do next.

See -

First in terminal, do
sudo lshw -class network

then
lspci -vvnn | grep 14e4

to find out that there is a broadcom controller. Then
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
$ sudo apt-get remove bcmwl-kernel-source
$ sudo reboot

then iwconfig

to verify. This avoids installing a proprietary device driver that may not work as well. Good luck deniz07.

When you did your install, did you click on the 2 boxes in the 2nd window of the installer app?, the 2nd box installs drivers for WiFi devices!, borrow a network cable from a friend or neighbour and connect via LAN , open Control Center > Hardware > Additional Drivers and see if it loads drivers for you!:
