Hi, I use an External Wifi Adapter for internet connectivity. It works fine. However no icon for that hardware is displayed on the desktop unlike USB storage devices. Thus there is no option to Safely Eject / Remove the Wifi Adapter. I just have to pull it out of of the USB port.
Please advise how to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.
This is a wifi adapter, not a usual usb where you can save data.
Regular USB sticks where you can save data are mounted and appear as a desktop icon.
Just pulling out the wifi adapter of the usb port is fine, you will lose network.

...and if he is really that worried just always shut down the computer before removing the WIFI dongle, but I agree with you removing it while the computer is running will not hurt it. I had an older laptop where I had to use a Bluetooth dongle and you could safely remove that while the computer was running.
You could also choose to turn off wifi from the panel indicator before pulling the dongle.
