"wired" settings missing

I want to add my ubuntu 18.04 into my domain but for some reason there is not "wired" settings.
i have internet on that machine and i am able to login with RDP to the server but the networking settings are missing.
if i am doing ip addr i can see that the network settings are correct
the machine running as Vmware machine and i already installed the VMTOOLS

please help! :frowning:

Hi, welcome to the Ubuntu MATE community – is this an installation of purely Ubuntu 18.04 or Ubuntu MATE 18.04 with the GNOME desktop installed on top?

Also, how are you logged in to the system? Is this from the “physical screen” of VMWare or is the virtual system being accessed via an XRDP session?

Should it be XRDP (that’s connected here via RDP), my past experience is that there’s some weird permissions issue and network settings don’t seem to register when accessed remotely.
