Won't shut down, reboot or suspend

Hello My friends!

I love Ubuntu Mate but it is not trouble free.
I have so many issues but I will split this in several topics to see if we can troubleshoot this beter in diferent steps.

My computer has several problems with Ubuntu Mate.

It does not reboot
It does not shut down
It does not suspend

What can I do?
When this computer had windows it worked fine, so I know its software.

My computer is an Acer Aspire E15, a model that sells a lot so I expect many people to have the same problems I have.

Currently using Ubuntu Mate 17.10 64bit

Is your bios up to date? I had power issues with my old Acer One which were resolved by updating the bios.

Have you “tweaked” anything since you installed 17.10?

Was 17.10 an upgrade or a fresh installation?

Have you tried a fresh install?

Have you tried going back to the 16.4.3 LTS version?

Have you successfully run Linux on this machine before (if yes please give relevant details)?

Do you have any usb-devices e.g. a mouse attached when trying to do the things you say will not work?

not sure about that.I’ll check
I even updated to the latest kernel through the automatic updates and its still doing the same thing!
