Married 45 years to Dee Dicen Hunt. Ancient and decrepit as described by our daughter. But still going even though long in the tooth. Got my first computer in 1983 - an Acorn BBC Model B which I upgraded to a Torch Disk Pack (CPM OS running on a Zilog Z80). Did a part-time HNC BTEC course in Computer Studies at North East London Poly. Learned assembler, structured Basic, Pascal, COBOL (Ugh), got all at C with far pointers. Haven't done any high or low level programming for about 30 years. Got into Unix when I bought a Torch XXX and moved back to OZ. Taught myself html and CSS but haven't yet summoned up the courage to learn how to design website to handle tablets and smartphones.
Used Windows for about ten years but bit the bullet and changed over to Linux as I didn't like being bullied by Microsoft. Been using Ubuntu since the early days, changed over to Linux Mint when Unity desktop came in as I didn't want to spend time learning a new desktop. Came over to Ubuntu Mate when I ran into problems with Mint.
