I use linux since I was at 7th grade. I've been using ubuntu with "gnome 2 fleshback" most of the time. Then I moved to macOS (then OS X), which I use at work or at school.

I've tried Mint, but... it felt strange. Recently I found out about Ubuntu Mate. I was happy to see, that my then new nVidia GC works with Ubuntu well. Even CUDA worked as expected - my attempt to install CUDA Toolkit on Windows failed really bad.

I use Ubuntu Mate as my home desktop OS and I love it. Being influenced by macOS I plan to dig deeper into GTK and Mate and customize some of the Mate applets to work better for me.
