Got my first computer in 1981. It was a Tandy/Radio Shack 1000 with 256 k of RAM, twin 256 k floppy drives and ran DOS 3.2. I didn't upgrade to Windows until 1995. I've been using Ubuntu/Linux since 2006. I would classify myself as a "hobbyist". I love Ubuntu-Mate. The desktop is very similar to Cinnamon and I don't have to jump through hoops to upgrade.
