Hi,
I know this may be a rare problem but I am having an issue with my USB 3 ports on the 17.10 Beta.
I am running an all AMD system with a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 motherboard, in all previous versions of Ubuntu Mate I have had to do a few things to get all USB ports and networking working as they should. This involved:
setting iommu in the bios to enabled
editing /etc/default/grub and adding iommu=soft to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""
then sudo update-grub
reboot
set iommu to disabled
As I say this previously sorted all my problems, I got the nice quick boot times as you’d expect on a system running of a SSD and all the ports working.
I have followed all these steps since going to 17.10 Beta, but I only have my USB 2 ports and network port working.
Apologies that while I use Linux as a my primary OS, some things like this are beyond my knowledge and this one has me very stuck. I can carry on like this, it’s just more annoying than anything else. If Anyone has any ideas of pointing me in the right direction of anything else I need to look at, it will be seriously appreciated.
