[19.04] Why doesn't caja automatically refresh?

Hello Community,

While using Caja v1.20.3 on UM 19.04 is it me or it never refreshes and manually pressing "F5" is required every time? I have just finished going through it's settings and I do not believe that I have found anything relevant there.

Kind of annoying especially for folders that are being written in and looked at daily.

Cheers!

Hi,

I just tested it.
Creating files and folders in terminal, Caja detected and refreshed.
Saving files from application (eg. Pluma Libreoffice), Caja detected and refreshed.

Does Caja do it for all directories or just (for example) remotely mounted ones, as samba or nfs?

That is a good point and you are right: I should had stated that this is for NFS and SMB mounts.

My bad.

I'm afraid it is a generally missing feature even in under KDE.

Someone please fix me if I am wrong, but as I know, since Caja and other file managers using gvfs as a backend for these things, it is up to gvfs, not Caja itself.

Couldn't a simple "refresh" job be automated in caja for it to always execute it before listing NFS/SMB content?
