Hi xaire,

open Software & Updates > Other Software then take out the tick for the Skype repo!. It times out constantly.

skype is available in software boutique
From menu search for software and open software boutique
When software boutique is populated search for skype and press enter and you should see this.

Hi colinux,

I installed Skype via the boutique myself, I also had the same problem with the Skype repo and disabled it as described above. :grinning:

The odd thing being that it is installed via UM's own software which is kinda strange don't you think?.

I think his issue was installing skype from a repo on an earlier release and then doing an upgrade to the 20.04 release which then left his older repo incompatible.
I would go with removing the old skype repo completely from software sources as it will never be needed again and would just cause issues down the line for future upgrades.

That is possible, we won't know for sure if the OP doesn't tell us?.

I don't use skype so he won't be able to tell me via skype lol

My 19.10 refused to upgrade automatically so did a fresh install of 20.04 LTS and installed Skype from Boutique. I had to add DNS 8.8.8.8 in order for balenaEtcher to be added as per my 17.10.
My machine [desktop] seems 'allergic' to UM but run it it will as I'll never run MS again.

Today I reticked ' https://repo.skype.com/deb stable main' and got no errors on update. There was no Skype update today but will it update now?

The Menu only allows me to, select an app in the right hand column with the down arrow for 'Favourites', all the rest require me to navigate with the trackball to the right column of the selected group and manually select the app with the trackball. Is this is how its meant to be?

I assume that when an update becomes available, it will/should indeed update!.

Which menu are you referring to @xaire ?.

The main menu on the opening page. [select group type on left -favourites, all, admin etc, then app in group on right]

Seems to be normal behaviour as mine does the same using "Traditional Panel"!.
