Telegram was working last night - allowed the system update I got a prompt for this morning, rebooted and now telegram-desktop just fails silently. By that I mean, the icon pops into the panel then immediately closes. I see nothing in syslog or anywhere else to indicate what the problem is.
I've removed/purged/re-installed but no change in behaviour. so far that's the only thing I've found broken since the update but early days.
Hmmm - looking again in syslog, I now see this:
Dec 14 09:21:33 soc org.mate.panel.applet.BriskMenuFactory[10133]: qt.qpa.xcb: XKeyboard extension not present on the X server
Dec 14 09:21:34 soc org.mate.panel.applet.BriskMenuFactory[10133]: error: : cannot open

I am running the desktop headless and with tightvnc to access gui remotely. I guess I could try setting boot to graphical.target again and see what happens, but if anyone can suggest an alternative I'd be interested and grateful.
