In 26.04 both sudo and gksu is missing. Sudo seems to bei replaced by sudo-rs. How can i revert to the old much more secure sudo and gksu version?
Please note that the Rust-based sudo (a.k.a. sudo-rs) is a Canonical initiative, not UbuntuMATE, which makes it a new, however much we consider it to be undesirable, permanent feature.

Did you read the docs published by the Ubuntu development teams (Foundations etc)
- Adopting sudo-rs By Default in Ubuntu 25.10 - Project Discussion - Ubuntu Community Hub
- Migration to rust-coreutils in 25.10 - Foundations - Ubuntu Community Hub
etc.
They did provide a revert mechanism section (2nd listed doc), and there were many such docs published after those initial posts I've provided links for too, I've just forgotten them & would need to search (which you can do anyway as well as I could)
As far as gksu goes it's been deprecated for a few years now.
