64 bit compatability?

So I have a HP Compaq 6510b . My processor is 32 and 64 bit compatible .
I wan’t to move to 64 bit Ubuntu Mate . Will it have anny issues ? And will there be a major slowdown ?

I run 64bit, but on newer hardware. I have no issues though.

The best thing to do is to try out

Maybe if you try it on live iso/usb in the 64 version.
But if the processor is compatible, there is no reason that a 64 bits kernel won’t work.
But i think you should make a fresh install rather than an upgrade.

What do you think people ?

My work laptop is a HP Compaq 6510b and I install and use 64 bit windows software and run 64 bit live isos with no problems apart from it is slow by modern standards.

Well basicly you run it from live iso so it is reasnable to be slower . Wath about the installed 64 bit windows . Does it work Well ?
