A better ergonomy for the desktop

Hello I would like to propose an idea for ubuntu mate.

it’s about mate space usage on 16/9 screen , look at the screen , you have 3 bars on the top , and 1 bar below , and this is not realy ergonomic for a 16/9 screen.

it would be very cool if you could integrate TopMenu and locally integrated Menu by default like on Unity.

Thanks

you can customize your desktop via MATE tweak

Not the answer you are looking for, but could help.

The Title Bar can be eliminated in fullscreen by using Mate Tweak. Go to “Windows” and check “Undecorated maximized windows”.

but we can’t minimize a maximized window if we enable that , this is why we need a topmenu-like feature like on ubuntu Unity edition

Right click on the window in your window list (panel) and yes, not the best solution. Just the only suggestion I have. Good luck

I delete the bottom bar and run DOCKY. I left UBUNTU because I hate their Desktop please don’t bring it here.
