Access USB drive on Netgear EX6200 WiFi Range Extender

I have a Netgear EX6200 WiFi Range Extender which has a USB 3 port that you can use as a “network” drive.

In Windows I enter \\Readyshare in the Start>Run box hit Enter and it pops up a file dialog window that allows access to the drive.

Is there some equivalent command or method in Mate 16.04?

Thanks, Fred

Hi Fred,

I would try their support page as I don’t have a clue myself!:

I just finished doing the same thing with my networking equipment. I have a different make and model than yours but from a quick scan of the documentation for yours reveals it uses samba like mine, (smb). (And probably most others are the same as well).

Here's how I access mine:

  1. Find out the IP address of your networking device (server)
  2. In the 'Places Menu', find 'Connect to Server'.
  3. You should be presented with a 'Connect to Server' dialog box,
    (a) change the spinbox in the 'Type' field from 'Public FTP' to 'Windows Share'
    (b) enter the IP address for your server in the 'Server:' field
    (c) (optional) - Tick 'add bookmark', and enter any name you like for the new bookmark
    (d) click 'Connect'

I hope that helps,

Thanks for the succinct reply, but no joy.
Below are my results, any clue?

Thanks, Fred

@wolfman

Don’t recommend using NetGear support. It took me 20 minutes to get my message put in. Plus it is in the Community, not really support.

A User on Stack Exchange pointed out 192.168.0.14 was my laptop address, not the EX6200 address like I thought.

I found the address for the EX6200 by logging on to my router and looking at the Device table. That coupled with @Herman’s reply in post #3 solved the problem.
