I just installed Ubuntu MATE on my system. First thing first, It comes with Orca and MATE is extremely accessible! The Screen reader is able to read all the UI so far. (Although I’m still new to MATE, I still don’t know all the hotkeys to access some areas of the desktop)
Now, more importantly, What I was always concerned with was navigation speed and keyboard responsiveness. So far, Ubuntu MATE is giving me a lightening speed. One of the main reasons that I was using windows 7 on my laptop was keyboard responsiveness. My system flies with Ubuntu MATE.
