Accidentally deleted my panel (I think.)

I deleted the panel on the bottom of my screen that shows what programs are open.

I added Workspace Switcher but it is not the same.

Can someone help me restore it?

First, right-click on your upper Panel and click on "Add Panel".

Then move that panel to the bottom of the display.

Then add applets as follows:

Those will rebuild the Default bottom Panel.

It did not help.

I know that you guys are trying to help me.

I do my best but I am struggling with trying to understand why it is so hard to reconstruct the panel that used to be at the bottom of the screen.

When I accidentally deleted it, I went right away to the trash bin.

It was not there.

If someone deletes something, there is the possibility that it was done in error.

Hint to the developers.

Hi, @fixit7

I understand why you may have thought that the panel you "removed" from the bottom of the screen could end up in the "Trash" bin icon. However, I believe that the "Trash" is meant to contain only deleted files and deleted directories and not other types of "objects". If you are interested, you may read the "Trash Specification" at freedesktop.org:

Besides the great help that @ericmarceau has already given in this topic, may I ask what "Panel Layout" are you using? You may find that in "MATE Tweak". To open "MATE Tweak", you can go to the "Ubuntu MATE" menu (at least that's what I call that menu), and then hovering the mouse over "Preferences" and then scroll down on the right side until you find the "MATE Tweak" and click on that "MATE Tweak" option, as I show in the following screenshot:

When the "MATE Tweak" window opens, click on the "Panel" button (2nd button in the vertical left side navigation), As you can see in the screenshot below, I use the so-called "Familiar" panel Layout (the selected panel layout appears in the right hand side of the window, in the first dropdown list of the "Panels" section):

I'm confused! How could it not?

Here are the "Add Panel" items to replace the original ones:

Those are the Apps on the default bottom panel!

Also, very important, once you've recreated your Panel Layout, you need to save that as a "Named Layout" with a unique name of your choosing, using the MATE Tweak panel that Ricardo already mentioned. Below is what I saved mine as:

That way, you can always restore the named layout if something goes wrong during your GUI interactions.
