I searched the posts but can’t find this. I decided to install the LTS rather than 15.04 and after I installed it all was great. But upon reboot there were several updates and after they were installed and the kernel changed from 13.0.39 to 13.0.46, the OS will no longer boot up. Just a blinking cursor and then a blank screen. I really want this to work but it will not boot unless I go back to the 13.0.39 kernel. Any suggestions for a fix?? Thank you.
My Machine: Quad Core 64 bit, 16 gigs of RAM, SSD and regular HD.
I understand but what I’m suggesting is that you skip the .46 kernel and try the next release when it is pushed to the 14.04 base. You usually don’t need the cutting edge kernel unless you have very new hardware or are having hardware issues

How will I know when the next release is “pushed” to the 14.04 base,
and sorry but what does that mean?
You will know when the new kernel shows up in the system updater for install on 14.04. Personally I would recommend installing 15.04 upon release but 14.04 is great as well
I have 14.10 running on a different partition and it’s a thing of beauty.
Compiz, Emerald, Nvidia all playing well together. When will 15.04 reach
eol?
