Downloading 15.10 alpha1 …getting ready to make it my daily driver and live on the wild side!
I downloaded it too, and the mini.iso. I think I’ll try ubuntu-mate-core first, but maybe only in a VM.
Install Failed, got a Errno 5 input/output error.
I’m downloading again to verify I had a good image…
Downloaded and installed successfully. A few points:
-
It continues to use MATE 1.8;
-
There are a number of significant fixes. The biggest one, in my
experience, results in certain GTK applications (synaptic being the
prime offender) no longer having ugly artefacts; -
MATE Tweak has had huge improvements;
-
There are some excellent new wallpapers;
-
The only disappointment is that bluez remains a long way behind (1.99
alpha 1). I see that 2.0 has recently been released and, really,
pre-release software should be replaced ASAP.
